“Many cultural identities age with their adherents, but goth consistently draws new blood.”
- The Economist 2024
Nature isn’t just for the outdoorsy—it’s for the rebellious. Fresh Hell, is a new zine blending dark photography, poetry, and exclusive content to bring nature into the heart of alternative culture.
Partnering with rising goth-pop artist and radio DJ Freya Beer, we co-curated the Zine and recorded a special episode of her Gothic Disco radio show live from Walthamstow Wetlands, with guest appearances from wildlife ranger and nature queen, Lira Valencia, and nature veteran, Chris Packham.

"Nature has always been a space for self-expression and liberation. As a former punk, I found freedom in the wild, and now it’s time to show that nature belongs to everyone — goths included. This project connects subcultures with the natural world, reminding us all of the deep bond we share with the planet."
